"Cannes is a typical busy riviera town. Beaches can get quite busy, vast selection of restaurants but can be expensive the nearer the sea, best to use back street. E.g Perrier in restaurant 3euro, supermarket 2 streets away 80cents"

"Cannes reste la ville la plus sympatique au bord de la mer, ses gens, ses cafés, ses restaurants etc... Tout est agréable même le coté blingbling et le staff stressé. Nous avons profité de la fête de la musique organisée en plein air sur les plages avec beaucoup de gout! La prochaine visite on fera plus d`effort pour visiter autre chose que les plages, les boutiques et les restaurants."

"We spent 3 days in Cannes during the festival period and we liked it, it was full of young people, everyone was dressed funnily even the older ones. In the evening, there were people in evening gowns taking walks back and forth in front of the festival center, just to make themselves a photograph with the red carpet, even if they weren`t visiting any premiere at all. There are awfully lot of shops to satisfy any shopping addict. The sea water is not very clear in the center, but the beach was fine for leisure."

"Cannes is perfect--it has everything I love about Paris--excellent food, great shopping, gorgeous architecture and walks--but a much more laid-back vibe. The beach is absolutely fantastic, much better than Nice (there`s actual sand!) The people are super-friendly and it`s safe, relaxing, and fun. June is a great month to go--after the film festival but before the high vacation season, it`s not that crowded (we never had to wait for tables at restaurants or to get into bars or clubs), and prices at hotels tend to be lower. You cannot beat Cannes for a summer trip."
